Judicial Academy, Assam
Judicial Academy, Assam, is a Statutory Institution established under the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009, with a view to imparting comprehensive legal training to all the stakeholders of the justice delivery system and providing legal research facilities to the judicial officers and court personnel. Judicial Academy, Assam, started functioning in the New High Court building located near M.G. Road, Guwahati-781001, Assam. Academy has started conducting Induction Training for the Grade I, II and III Judicial Officers of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh and the selected candidates for appointment to the Grade III of Assam Judicial Service. Academy vouches for continuing judicial education for all the stakeholders of the justice delivery system to enrich the quality of justice delivery.
North Eastern Judicial Officers' Training Institute (NEJOTI)
North Eastern Judicial Officers' Training Institute (NEJOTI), is one of the oldest non-profit and non-government judicial training institutes in India. NEJOTI was established on 28.11.1981 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, (Act 21 of 1860) with a view to imparting training to the officers discharging judicial function and the ministerial staffs in the subordinate courts in the North Eastern States. Presently, NEJOTI is imparting training to the judicial officers of the North Eastern States under the auspices of the Gauhati High Court and in collaboration with the Judicial Academy, Assam.
 
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Academy is to develop judicial skill by continuous training and ensure dispensation of justice through judicial effectiveness. The Academy shall strive to create professioanalised system of continuing judicial education for all the stakeholders of justice delivery system.
OUR VISION
The vision of the Judicial Academy is to become a store house of legal knowledge in North Eastern India and to achieve the constitutional vision of justice as enshrined in the preamble of Constitution of India. The Judicial Academy visualizes undertaking research on ADR including Traditional Dispute Resolution Mechanism prevalent in North Eastern India, customary law, administration of justice in North Eastern India and other legal topics which will enhance the skills of all the stakeholders of justice delivery system.
 
The Academy shall -
impart pre-service and in-service training to the Judicial Officers and court personnel;

develop the skills and techniques for court management, case management, delay reduction, alternate dispute resolution and judgment writing;
conduct examination and award certificates and diplomas;
develop training courses relating to administration of justice including use of information technology;
hold conferences, seminars, lectures, workshops and symposia relating to court management, administration of justice, law and development and legislative drafting;
publish books, journals, research papers and reports on important topics relating to administration of justice;
promote research on case management, court management, trial skills and judicial reasoning;
encourage legal and constitutional research;
inculcate and promote ethical values and standards in judicial officers and court personnel;
coordinate with other educational and training institutions including the institutions of other State Governments and Central Governments.
